MONSTERS IN SPACE...
MONSTERS IN SPACE doesn't mean real monsters but the monsters which are actually there in space. In my
fourth blog I revealed about how we are vulnerable of any space object hitting
us but we have already started solving but yet one of the main problems is revolving
around in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), yes I am talking about human created junks in space.
In this blog we are we are going to discuss about a huge problem of space
garbage.
It is rude but true that when we humans get
freedom we tend to misuse it and until it becomes a huge problem we don’t even
consider of thinking about it.
WHAT IS SPACE JUNK?
Initially, the
term space debris referred to the natural debris found in the solar system:
asteroids, comets, and meteoroids. However, now it is mostly termed as the term
the debris from the mass of defunct, artificially created objects in space,
especially in Earth orbit. Garbage in space is a huge and problem and now
it has become lethal and catastrophic for us. Every satellite launch and
satellite in space is always in danger of getting hit by a small screw of
abandoned derbies, that even now military warns approx. 20 warnings every day.
It is now more in new of satellites getting hit by other satellites that were
made a decade ago or so.
SOLUTIONS
To protect
ISS and future space missions scientists are deploying sci-fi based space
crafts but it is not going to be easy. Here are some solutions to the problem:-
2. Net capturing and burn it up by
sending it towards earth- A spider web like super strong material that is
used to wrap up on the junk and drag it
to earth’s atmosphere where it gets burned up.
3.
Propelling junks to sun- this is a good solution but it is very expensive and impractical,
millions of rockets will be required to do so.
4. LASERS ablation to the junk and vaporizing it.
The above solutions
are in its initial stages. Just like pollution here on earth if we don’t find a
solution before space junks makes us house arrest and preventing us to do any
further explorations we must start to take it seriously. I don’t mean to scare
you but it is a serious problem to be taken in consideration.
