STORING SUN IN A LIQUID
It sounds
weird and fascinating by the mention of STORING SUN IN A LIQUID. This blog
include overview of mind boggling innovation and how we are going to unfold it.
Every hour
sun gives huge amount of energy to earth that would be sufficient for a year and
yet we are not able to harness even a percentage of that, in fact if anyhow we
are able to summon a bit of energy will solve the problem of sustainable energy
once and for all but this is way to the dream future.
Fossil fuels depleting and creating global
warming and alternative sources like geothermal, wind, batteries, chemical
cells etc are being use now but yet is not even a solution. Solar cells depend
on continuous supply of photons and if it is provided approx. 80%of it is wasted,
biggest problem is that in harsh weather and at night time solar cell don’t work
and usually we connect solar cells with batteries. Well batteries are very
expensive and in reality they suck.
The need of
alternative source of quantitative energy might be fulfilled by storing sun’s
energy in a liquid of ISOMERS.
How it works?
Isomers
refer to compounds having same formula but different structural arrangement.
The molecules react when they are exposed to light and during the change in
structure, bond and atoms replace their place which stores energy and while comeback
to its original structure it release in energy(heat). Thus, converting into
other sources of energy. This process can be use in trapping photons energy in
isomers and using it when needed. This results in easy and efficient type of
solar cells that itself is a battery and powerhouse. This will create a new
era of energy conservation and conversion and who knows it might be the key to
sustainable energy.
Scientists are
coming up with new ideas and innovations to make sun do our bidding for
unlimited source of energy. Currently the innovating shows a promise of new and
improved future. Breakthroughs and inventions can provide a clean and
sustainable energy.
THE FUTURE OF SOLAR POWER LOOKS BRIGHT.
